The Herman Miller Middle East and Africa Team, based in Dubai, are proud to announce that they will be running the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon as a team event in the 3k and 10k Category on the 27th January 2012.
The team are running the event for charity and have partnered with Dubai Cares, whose aim is to reduce and remove obstacles that prevent children in developing countries from accessing quality primary education. As a team we are hoping for a long term partnership with Dubai Cares and also looking at alternative ways in which Herman Miller can assist in order for Dubai Cares to reach their goals.
Education is a critical factor in every child’s development. Yet, millions of children around the world, particularly in developing countries, do not have access to quality primary education.
Education is also the most effective tool to break the cycle of poverty and it was with this belief and a desire to give children - regardless of their nationality, creed or religion - the opportunity to become positive contributors to society, that Dubai Cares was launched in September 2007 and is currently working on projects in 23 countries.
