Some 80% of our employees and 75% of their spouses completed a health risk assessment, biometric screening and a routine physical examination. During the Level Up challenge, participants lost a total of 846 kg, exercised a total of 2,421,496 minutes and walked 660,526,722 steps.

This programme enables a group of students in West Michigan to see and experience career opportunities in manufacturing and to gain skills to prepare them for the world of work. More than 80 Herman Miller employees volunteer as presenters and mentors.

By May 2014, we had completed 24,643 volunteer hours, surpassing our goal of 20,000 for FY2014. This puts us well on our way to meeting our new three-year goal of 60,000 hours.

Five employee-led “boards” are tasked with identifying organisations that would benefit from our assistance in five areas: Design, Arts and Culture; Education; Health; Essential Human Needs; and the Environment. We call this programme 'Herman Miller Cares'.

Twenty Herman Miller employees in the UK contributed 150 hours to the Bath Rugby Foundation Inclusion Project, on top of a financial contribution, to help Bath Rugby staff to provide a safe environment for children with special educational needs.

Eleven Inclusiveness Resource Teams, including eight in the United States and three in our international offices, totalling over 300 employees worldwide, participated in over 80 internal initiatives and community outreach activities.
